The Ritual
P: We undertake this ritual to call upon the powers of Jupiter in all his names and aspects: Zeus, Jove, Jupiter, Tzedek, Thor, Marduk, Guru, and many other names by which we have known these beneficial forces throughout time. As the great planet Jupiter makes its year-long trek through [ Sagittarius, which it rules ], it brings its expansive influence of growth, good fortune, and abundance to bear in that sign. Accordingly, we work here to draw down and direct that majestic power into physical form, and to transmute that energy into beneficial thoughts, words, and actions. In doing so, it is our will to become like Jupiter, to positively influence those within reach of the orbit of our lives, and to bring strength, balance, and truth to the world.
All: So say we all
P: Unparalleled Zeus of the strong will and the swift strike, whose firm hand guides the path of men and women to the accomplishment of their True Wills:
All: We praise and honor you, we thank you for your blessings.
P: Far-seeing Jove, friend of the Fates, author of chance, father of fortune, whose words we hear in silent voices or see in the throw of the bones:
All: We praise and honor you, we thank you for your blessings.
P: Benevolent Jupiter, protector of the home, by your good will are our larders full, our children strong, our minds and bodies sound and vital:
All: We praise and honor you, we thank you for your blessings.
P:Merciful Marduk, from whom all good derives, we call forth your beneficent power to bestow upon us blameless health, divine peace, and necessary wealth:
All: We praise and honor you, we thank you for your blessings.
[ Everyone rises and forms a circle around the altar, about 4 paces away from it and facing inward ]
All: EL (intoning “ALE” with a gesture skyward)
[ Everyone circumambulates deosil around the altar while the next part is spoken ]
P: Of my beneficence I give freely
To every one that seeketh,
And from me cometh the victory
Which they win who gain to knowledge of secret things.
[ Everyone stops circling, faces inward, takes one step forward ]
All: Tzadkiel (intoning “ZAHD-KEE-ALE” with a gesture toward the altar, at eye-level)
[ Everyone continues to circumambulate deosil around the altar while the next part is spoken ]
P: By balancing opposites with exactitude unfailing,
I bring mastery of all conditions and circumstances
To him who seeketh faithfully to do my will.
Such an one will master days, and seas, and times,
Because through him my rulership of everything
Shall find free outlet.
Ever by balance do the wise attain.
[ Everyone stops circling, faces inward, takes one step forward ]
All: Kashmalim (intoning “KAHSH-MA-LEEM” with a gesture toward the altar, at chest-level)
[ Everyone continues to circumambulate deosil around the altar while the next part is spoken ]
P: And as the rewarder and conciliator,
I am the Lord of Fortune.
Whosoever conformeth his acts to my Will
Shall know me in truth as the Father of Mercy
Whose chariot in the heavens
Is the Great Benefactor, Tzedek.
[ Everyone stops circling, faces inward, takes one step forward ]
All: Tzedek (intoning “ZEH-DECK” with a gesture toward the altar directly)
Eucharist
[ One at a time, everyone takes a cake of light and consumes it, then returns to their seat ]
